"I'll treasure you like no other, my bride." The Hinowa Empire is protected by the dragon god. Since ancient times, the Shiryu Family has served as the empire's protectors, offering a "bride" to appease the dragon god every one hundred years. Although she is called the dragon god's bride, she is, in truth, an offering; a sacrifice. Chiyo, taken in by the Shiryu Family to fulfill this role, endures constant ab*se from her family, clinging to the hope of escaping through the sweet release of being devoured by the dragon god. But when the dragon god finally appears, he doesn't devour her.
