The "Angels" are beautiful messengers of God, with pearl-colored hair and eyes. Those who receive the protection of an angel are called "Saints," and have the power to heal people. Despite being born into a prestigious family that has produced many saints, Niella does not have holy powers, and as a result, her family calls her "useless" and hates her for even being alive. But no matter how hellish her days, Niella continues to offer up devout prayers to God. One day, her parents, wanting Niella to give birth to a saint, decided on a husband for her.
