First Contact erzählt die Geschichte der Ursprünge der Lupin-Bande. In dieser Explosion aus der Vergangenheit ist Lupin hinter dem wertvollsten Schatz des amerikanischen Mafiabosses Galvez her: einem Schatz in einem Schatz. Jigen ist Galvez 'angeheuerte Waffe, die den Katzeneinbrecher Lupin bei seinem ersten Versuch, den Schatz zu finden, nicht töten kann und Rache sucht. Fujiko ist die Freundin von Lupins Rivalen Brad.
